What do we do when we feel so low, so beaten down, so disappointed and sad that we feel we cannot go on, never mind love ourselves?
We open our eyes and look up. We have a roof above us while others have the canvas of refugee camp tents above them. We have heat in our homes warm when others in our country are cold. We have food in our cupboards when others on this planet have none. We are clothed when others in our cities have rags. We have running water while others must walk miles for barely potable water.
Yes, we hurt. Our hearts can ache so badly from the lack of basic recognition. Our minds can be numb from the tedium of our work. Our head can ache from the constant noise around us. Our shoulders are sore and tight from the stress of modern life. Our eyes hold back the tears from the worry of a sick loved one.
But, we have the building blocks of making a better life. We have hope that we can make things better. We can pull out our imaginary surfboards and ride the wave of change. We can have gratitude for the small things like a cup of tea. Faith, hope and love are all deposited in that reservoir within. Let faith, hope and love flow out from you.
Look up. Look way, way, way up.
You can do it.
