I'm not there yet, to be honest. You would think that being in retail this year, I'd be ready to roll with everything done ahead of time. Well, I never do. Except for one year when I vowed to buy all my gifts before December 1. I achieved that goal, however, the lure of Christmas shopping got me and I ended up buying even more gifts for the people I had already bought for. I won't make that costly mistake again!

Part of the season is the excitement, the chase after that perfect gift, the hustle and bustle of the stores and yes, the long line ups. I've come to expect it, and in some ways, I find some enjoyment out of it. It is the one time of year that I give myself permission to spend on all those people that make a difference in my life. It's fun -- I feel good when I give. I feel happy when someone finds joy in something I've chosen for them. I'll try to blog daily throughout this season and hopefully I won't become jaded. My quest in life is for serenity and bliss, for myself and to help others find serenity and bliss as well. Let's see how I do.
